We've hit a crossroad. We came back to celebrate KSP2, but it's not quite there yet. Maybe we jumped on the bandwagon too quickly. Maybe we're too long in the tooth to report on another development of a game. Or maybe we need to focus a little less on just KSP. We discuss our feelings about the show as it stands currently and ask for some feedback on where we go from here.

In this episode Digi, Mator and Aki discuss the upcoming KSP2 Science Mode update and what we believe to expect. Aki mentions the OSIRIS-Rex mission extension that will see it become OSIRIS-APEX and Digi does not dissapoint with his not-science questions. Aki also carries on the running A.I. theme with an Olive Garden commercial.

Digi returns after a period of time away so Mator and Aki catch him up on recent discussions. TheReadPanda is absent for this recording. We discuss the recent KSP2 v0.1.3 update as well as the seemingly contraversial 20% discount that is currently on offer for the game. Mator manages to view three rocket launches on one trip and we wonder the future of private ventures after the news of the Titan sub. We end on a high note with Digi's not-so-science science.

While TheReadPanda is away we drag Kofeyh back into the podcast to talk about his experience with Kerbal Space Program 2. We also discuss Nate's post about the issues with announcements and the backlash from the community. In our Real Space section we take ourselves back to 2016 when Aki, Digi, Kofeyh and Newbius Maximus went on a trip to Esperance to see the Skylab Wreckage. And, as always, we are left with heads-in-hands after Digi runs through his not-so-science questions.

Digi is away to celebrate Mother’s Day, leaving Mator, TheReadPanda and Aki to run the show. Despite the lack of interruptions and questionable science, the episode still runs on as usual. We end up discussing the KSP1 mod Kerbal Environmental Institute and the differences between Career and Science modes. We cover some more upcoming features of the next KSP2 patch. Mator brings up the Fomalhaut asteroid belt and Read brings some good news about the Voyager space probes. During Read-Ed, we digress off onto a big tangent about Artificial Intelligence.

All four hosts are back together again. Aki compares the frame rates of Kerbal Space Program 2 v0.1.2.0 between two PCs that are 10 years apart in age with interesting results. Matoro covers his media experiences with the Starship launch and his interview with Victor Glover, the pilot of Artemis 2. TheReadPanda brings an interesting discussion about the Moon lander contract for Artemis 3. Digi, of course, brings his own science to the show.

Aki returns for this episode and makes an apology for the previous stalling of the podcast. He also explains how the new format of the show will be from now onwards. CKAN for Kerbal Space Program is given some hype and we discuss some of the more unusual experiences with KSP2. The Real-Space sections goes wayword with some future ideas for the International Space Station and Mator announces some rather big news regarding Artemis 2. Because the recording happens to fall on April Fools, Digi actually tries to deliver some real science...

With Aki and Read absent, Mator and Digi are joined by a guest: LinuxGuruGamer (The Mod Father!), who is a prolific modder, mod saviour and mod janitor of Kerbal Space Program. Linux talks through what it means to be a mod-maker/mod-maintainer. The hosts also discuss the very welcomed KSP2 0.1.1.0 patch.

Mator, Digi and Read run through their thoughts on KSP2 after the Early-Access release. This is the first episode where Aki is absent from the team, but does not escape the editing. Read offers concerns over what the Starlink project might mean for the future of outer-space while Digi brings in a new section to the show... 'That's not science, Digi!'. Finally, Mator announces some future changes to the show as all four hosts try to find a way to form a recording routine.

Only Mator and Aki are present for this show. Read was feeling under the weather and Digi was unable to attend a mid-week recording. But we could not delay the episode any longer as it was our last chance to record in the year 2020.

We discuss what the the Kerbal Space Program 1.11 update will bring and share our excitement for this release. KSP2 is delayed until 2022 and we share our thoughts on that as well as the most recent Dev Diary from Intercept Games.

Mator shares his experience with the most recent rocket launches and who will be the first members to walk on the moon. Aki discusses the sad news of the Arecibo Observatory collapse.

Kerbal Space Program celebrates 9 years in the making and we look at some of the facts Squad shared since releasing Kerbals into our care. Our overview of KSP2 news covers the way Kerbals will look and behave when the second version of this great game is released.

Mator covers off some of the recent Space-X launches (and some that didn't launch!), which sends Digi and Aki off onto a rather stranger tangent...

Nov 18, 2020

An episode is squeezed out just before Aki returns to the UK and it seems the pandemic hasn't caused a lack of news for both Kerbal Space Program and KSP2 this time. Version 1.10 drops for KSP and we go over the new features while the KSP2 slot is taken up with an inevitable discussion about the new Intercept Games studio.

Mator runs through the Crew Dragon Demo-2 launch in our real-space segment while Aki get the other hosts to guess the RPM of the fastest known spinning object. A community questions has us discussing which launch/mission in history we would like to be a part of.

We decided to leave the record button on after closing out the KSP content and this is the result. Our after-parties leave us discussing non-KSP related general gaming news and other material (including crock-pots!).

Topics covered are the new pricing for Twitch in Australia, Steam Licencing, Fallout 4 Creation Club headaches, a streamers culinary best friend, and current and wishful game remakes!

Warning - this episode contains strong language!

Jul 11, 2020

The pandemic continues to hinder our sanity as well as the release of fresh information, so we return to the Making History expansion for an overview of what the DLC provides. We discuss some things we'd like to see in KSP2 before moving on to our first listener email since relaunching the show. The Real Solar System mod is discussed as a result, and we also cover some communication mods that we've been using in recent play-through's of Kerbal Space Program.

We revisit some questions from the last episode in the real-space section and The Read Panda brings the Theia Theory, which covers the most popular idea on the formation of the Moon, to his Space History Corner.

Perhaps our most wayward episode with the longest intro to date!

We get immensely side-tracked during our intro segment, but it should still be good entertainment. We’ll blame the lack of new KSP contact, thanks to the current pandemic. Skip the first 30 minutes if all you want is Kerbal Space Program news.

Although not much has happened for KSP 1 or 2 in recent times, we still have a good go at discussing some of the past and upcoming features. We cover off on what update 1.8 ‘Moar Boosters!’ brought us for Kerbal Space Program and we also talk about our thoughts on the latest KSP2 dev update.

In real-space we spin some facts on the Mars Helicopter while celebrating NASA bringing back the ‘Worm Logo’. TheReadPanda talks about the space-stations that ‘never were’ in his History Corner.

We review the biggest changes in the Kerbal Space Program 1.9.1 release and attempt to drag out some of the upcoming features from the latest KSP2 news. Real-space covers the new Mars 2020 rover 'Perseverance' and we try some inventive names for the new Mars Helicopter that will be accompanying the roaming vehicle. We have decided not to continue under the Boosters and Spacetape name as we move away from a KSP focus. All four of us appear for the final recording to say farewell and let you know where to find our new show.

We discuss the upcoming KSP 1.3.1 patch as well as the progress on the DLC. Take Two also gets a discussion after the company partners with SQUAD.

Feedback from our listeners is read out as their opinion is shared on our decision to expand our show. The usual astronomy section follows where we talk over the probe to the Ice Giants, the LRO meteoroid encounter and some more news on the WOW! signal.

We dedicate the end of this final episode sharing news on our new show and where to follow if you decide to continue with us on our crazy podcasting journey.

Join us for our second special offline episode and last dedicated KSP recording as we discuss the changes that will be coming to this podcast. The feedback we have received from both the live and at-home audience has been extremely positive regarding our proposed changes and we have already begun work on the new format for the show.

Before we start we also have another quick overview of the upcoming 'Making History' expansion and the KSP v1.3 update to offer some clarity to our listeners.

Digi returns back to the show with his bad jokes for a full-house lineup. We quickly breeze over our recent KSP adventures to get to the discussion over Squad revealing their 'Big Announcement'. Despite sugar coatings from Aki and perspective changes from the Panda, beware for much cynicism and salt in this episode...

After wishing Yuri Gagarin a happy birthday we revisit TRAPPIST-1 to dampen the spirits for many in our real-space segment. The NASA budget proposals cause mixed emotions for both existing and future missions and then Digi re-designs the laws of physics in response to the Panda's discussion on Fast Radio Bursts.

We also have a big announcement for the podcast that we would very much appreciate your feedback on. Contact boostersandspacetape@gmail.com or @BSpacetape if you would like to influence our decision on some upcoming changes.

In the absence of DigitalPsychosis we do our best to inject the silliness into this episode as we discuss our recent adventures in Kerbal Space Program. With the help of the live chat we throw out some, what turned out to be, bad guesses for the Secret Project that Squad has been working on for the past few months. The Read Panda has some obsessions over the Fallout series and gazebos while Aki explains how he is a second-hand vegetarian. Listener mail and Tweets are also read out.
